This course compares the law’s informal theories of human behavior with what social, cognitive, developmental and personality psychologists know based on empirical studies. Topics include policing, interrogations, false confessions and guilty pleas, forensic evidence, deception detection, eyewitness identifications, alibi generation and corroboration, repressed memories and jury selection and decision-making.
