Genetic engineering is a powerful technology with applications in many fields, including medicine and agriculture. This course considers both the basic science and societal impact of genetic engineering. Topics include basic principles, techniques/technologies of genetic engineering, societal implications, ethical considerations and historical case studies. A biology background is not required.
